Adventurous alternative trekking route with a reliable and attentive support crew

Dolpo Trekking in Nepal

Dear Raj,

Namaste and best return greetings from Wayne in Tasmania.

We agreed that the service you and your team provided during our long range remote area trek in Dolpo District, north-west Nepal was exceptionally good in all regards.  This trek was obviously difficult for you to organise because of the airstrip closure at Juphal, meaning a complete replanning and re-organisation of our routes and schedules was needed.

Despite these difficulties causing much extra work, you still provided us with an impressively attractive and adventurous alternative trekking route with a reliable and attentive support crew, who supplied three wholesome healthy meals each day and provided daily campsite duties effectively and courteously.

I personally found your organizational skills and attention to client needs were extremely considerate, effective and commendable.  Your successful treatment of my respiratory illness at Phoksumdo Lake; the numerous and complex mobile phone calls at the trip’s end, which enabled our stranded group to be safely extracted from our weatherbound remote airstrip by helicopter in time to catch international flights, demonstrated beyond doubt your ability as a first class trekking guide.

Because of your unsurpassed devotion and duty to our Tasmanian group of trekkers in extremely difficult circumstances, I have no hesitation in recommending you and your guiding company to all prospective clients, who may enquire of your future services in Nepal.

Yours very gratefully,
Wayne Binns.

I made a wonderful trekking tour to Everest base camp

Everest Base Camp trekking In Nepal

In october 2012 I made a wonderful trekking tour to Mount Everest base camp. Our tour guide was Raj. He showed us with enthusiasm the gigantic and fantastic world of the highest mountains of Himalaya. The tour was perfect organized and Raj took care that everyone of our group could reach the own personal aim.  With great expert knowledge he introduced us into the mysteries of nature and variety cultures of his country. From Raj I learned a lot how the different ethnic groups in Nepal live together in a respectful and peaceful way. And he didn't teach it only but he also practiced it. For this experience I am very thankful. So I hope I can continue my excursions in Nepal in future... of course with Raj my tour guide.

I return to do the Trek again with my son in the future

Elissa Telfer with group

“I had Raj as a tour guide for a 2012 trek to Mt Everest Base Camp.  Feeling quite anxious about the trek, mainly because of my fitness, Raj immediately put me at ease.  He has a very unassuming manner, a great sense of humors and focuses on ensuring people have a fun experience and reach Base Camp without rushing.  Something that everyone in our group noticed was that of all the tour guides on the mountain, Raj was the one that was greeted most warmly at every stop by the locals.  We all felt that having him as a guide got us the best rooms, best food and those little extras that make the difference e.g. like spare blankets and heaters!  I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Raj and when I return to do the trek again with my son in the future, will only use him.”

In 2009 I took part in a trip to Everest Base Camp.

I would like to say how much I enjoyed the adventure. It was the best trip ever for me and I cannot wait to visit Himalaya again.

I have to say that not only fantastic views, atmosphere and my love for maintain are the reason for my precious, happy memories. People there are extremely nice, our potters and Sherpa were very, very helpful, our guide, Raj was caring and well organized. He showed anything but professionalism and how well he knows his job in the mountains. I could not believe how precise he was in estimating times, organizing meals, making sure we get clean water, etc. He was full of knowledge about places and traditions. Open to answer so many of our questions. And when people start getting sick he was making well informed decisions basing on his experiences and human resources he had. Even in that complicated situation he still made sure I arrived to the Base Camp. J

He was always respectful of us and other trekkers and we enjoyed his company.

Ros and Rod walking from Gokyo Lake.

Raj was friendly and helpful from the moment we met him at Kathmandu airport.  It was our first trip to Nepal and it was great to have his guidance.  He organised our trek and the flight to Lukla and made sure we had everything we needed.

We walked with Raj and a lovely young porter, Rudra, to Gokyo Lakes and over Renjo Pass; spectacular country and friendly open people. Raj loves his country and takes great delight in being able to answer any question you can throw at him.

We appreciated his advice and never felt that he was intrusive, he was always respectful of us and other trekkers and we enjoyed his company.  Late in the trek Ros was hit with a nasty dose of Nepalese belly and had to be evacuated by helicopter to Kathmandu. Raj managed the evacuation very professionally and the stress of the episode was much diminished by his competency. The helicopter flight was great! A night in hospital resolved the issue and we were soon back on track and headed east to tea country around Ilam for some rest and recuperation. When we returned three weeks later we met up with him again in Kathmandu and Raj was kind enough to take us sightseeing, helped out with packing when it was time to leave and made sure we got to the airport without too much hassle. He is a nice man, you will like him. Thanks Raj, it was a great holiday!
