Dashain festival tour in Nepal program is a cultural based tour that takes part during famous Hindu festival Dashain. Dashin is a very important festival in Nepal. It is known as Bada Dashain, Vijaya Dashami or Durga Pooja. It falls according to lunar calendar on September to October. Dashain is celebrated 15 days. Goddess Durga, the goddess of power and the Universal Mother Goddess who kills demons worshiped during this festival.
The first day of this festival known as Ghatasthapana, in this day the elders of the family plant a grass called as Jamara. From seventh day main celebration starts. The seventh, eighth and nine days are called Phulpati, Maha Astami and Maha Nawami respectively. The tenth day is known as Vijaya Dasami, the day of victory.
Junior members of the family receive Tika and Jamara and blessing from elders of the family.
All the family members gather together and exchange their happiness and good wishes.
Those who are far away from home also try to come home to celebrate this festival along with their family members. People wear new clothes and eat delicious food. This festival Gives joy, happiness and delight. Especially children enjoy the most. They play on swings and have a lot of fun. All the schools, colleges, institutions, organizations and
Government offices remain closed during this festival.
Day 01: Welcome to Kathmandu valley (1350m). Upon your arrival we assist you from airport to hotel rest overnight.
Day 02: Today we take you a full day sightseeing and cultural tour around Kathmandu city. We visit famous Pashupatinath temple, Swoyambhunath temple, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square & Patan Durbar Square. Rest overnight.
Day 03: Today we dive from Kathmandu to Samari and stay at home to Bhouteni. Rest overnight.
Day 04: Today we move from Bhouteni all the way to Khahare. Rest overnight at homely environment of village.
Day 05: Today we celebrate the "Asthami" with locals At Khahare. Enjoy the cultural events and rest overnight.
Day 06: Today we go for a hike up to Salankot and visit Bhagabati temple with many animal sacrifice for special puja. Rest overnight.
Day 07: Today we celebrate Vijaya Dashami and put Tika on forehead and receive blessings from the elders. Enjoy full day with local people, play ping (swing) and sightseeing around the village. Rest overnight.
Day 08: Today we walk down to next village for tika and take blessing from another family. Rest overnight.
Day 09: Today after lunch we drive back to Kathmandu. Rest overnight.
Day 10: Today we assist you to airport for you further departure.
